Keeping tabs on mentions in the media used to be a fairly expensive proposition for businesses. They paid people across the country to monitor their local papers, TV, etc. and report mentions back to the company.
It’s a little easier for Indiepreneurs these days to use the Internet – specifically using Google Alerts, to be notified when they get a mention anywhere online including news stories and blogs.
Set up an alert for each and every term you want to monitor: your name, your business name, terms relevant to your business, terms relevant to information in which you’re interested.
