This guest post by Rachel Meis of UsTrendy explains her very unique business that, I think, exudes the philosophy that capitalism can be supportive of Indiepreneurs. I love the idea and the site. Please visit UsTrendy — and always buy Indie!

For a start-up company, UsTrendy is already proving to be a triple threat to competitors. UsTrendy’s democratic concept is changing how people think about fashion. For the first time consumers can voice their opinion and decide what a fashion company produces. Designers post their designs on UsTrendy, users vote, and UsTrendy helps produce the top rated designs.
The company was created when founder Sam Sisakhti was saddened by the career and life struggles a close friend of his faced while trying to make it in fashion design. Despite his friends great talent, he was unable to successfully make a living off his craft due to barriers in the fashion industry.
In a short time UsTrendy has grown to be one of the largest fashion and art databases. The company helped to bring indie fashion main stage when they provided an Independent fashion designer with their own runway show at London Fashion Week in February.
Earlier this year UsTrendy launched an online store where consumers can buy one of a kind indie fashions. Currently UsTrendy is working on re-launching its home page. The new site promises to continue to change the concept of fashion.
With new fashion concepts underway and collaborations in the works, UsTrendy is giving power to the fashionable people.
