While sites like Etsy , eBay and Tias help Indie buyers and Indie sellers make electronic connections, finding venues to conduct business face to face can be more of a challenge.
Most sellers take a hit or miss approach when trying shows or fairs or markets. Unless you’ve sold at a particular venue before, it’s tough to know whether the space fees and travel costs are worthwhile, or a waste of time and money — valuable resources to every Indiepreneur.
Buyers, too, take time out of their weekend and sometimes travel a few miles to venues as well.
It makes sense that both Indie buyers and Indie sellers should compare notes, right? Indiepreneur would like to compile a list of as many markets as we can.
So from art fairs to farmer’s markets, antique malls to flea markets — what (and where) are YOUR favorite venues and why? What are the days and hours of the venue? What are the fees for sellers? Are buyers charged an admission fee? How was the overall traffic? Inventory? Sales? Food? Weather? Management? Etc., etc., etc. Leave a comment — or send an email.
If you have an essay’s worth of info to share, we’d be happy to post a full-fledged article — giving you the byline with a link to your blog or web site :)
