When you hear the phrase “Making Money Online”, do you roll your eyes and expect a scam to soon follow? Well, just as there were hucksters selling door-to-door in the old days, there are scams online — and you should keep an eye out.
However, there are bona fide opportunities to really “make money online”. People are doing it and so can you.
Here are just a few ways that we know of:
- Sell your wares via Etsy, Dawanda, eBay, Amazon or another third party … your own site
- You can blog your life and your interests — make it interesting enough and traffic will come
- Sell advertising on your blog or website
- Take surveys – just answer questions and get paid (we haven’t tried this method yet, but we will!)
- Write for other people’s blogs
- Write and sell an ebook
- Design and create sites and blogs for others
No doubt there are many more ways to earning a living online. One blog we’ve come across seems to talk about a range of methods and many links to sites that will pay you for ads and services allowing you to make money at home using a computer and an internet connection.
Go poke around at Make Money Online for a bit and see what you can come up with that matches your interests and skills.
By all means, keep your eyes open for scams — but don’t close them to real opportunities either. Good luck!

So… This is exactly my plan, to do a bunch of different things to make myself some money on the web, while staying home with new Baby Girl
I just started a blog (and I mean JUST, like last week!) and am learning the tech-y stuff that makes WordPress magic happen. I hope to open a new Etsy shop soon too, and sell some of the amazing lovelies that I’ve been making and selling small scale. The blog will be aimed at um, shall we call it “budget-challenged” mommys such as myself, with freebies, giveaways, reviews of stuff that we’ve found is actually worth buying for baby, and fun activites and crafty stuff to do cheap… All the things that make me happy
But I’m off topic now… The bit about doing surveys and such, YES you can make some $$, decent amounts, I make about $75 a month, but don’t plan on big bucks! The bigger the claim the site makes, the more you should beware! Toluna, MySurvey, Synovate, and Inbox Dollars are the ones I use currently, and have gotten actual checks from them all!! I suggest using a few, so you always have new surveys coming in, and can cash out different places every week or two!
Getting a little extra cash-ola, some fun freebies and samples, and winning goodies has become a bit of a hobby… (or maybe addiction? lol) of mine, which is why I want to share some of the stuff I’ve learned thru trial and error with other ladies that don’t have the time to sort thru the crap to find the good stuff! If you want to check out the bloggy goodness, its at http://www.sunshineandsippycups.com , but I reccommend waiting a couple week to look at it, since its a work in progress right now!
And… I might be a new mommy blogger, but don’t ya dare call me a mother-blogger!!
